Rapid rehousing key components

  1. Housing Identification
  2. Financial assistance for rent and move-in
  3. Case management and services

It is not necessary that people use all the three components of rapid rehousing. Instead, they take advantage of the ones that are most relevant to them.

Services

  • Find appropriate rental housing;
  • Solve some of the common hurdles people face in finding housing;
  • Pay for housing for a short time period and enable people to move quickly out of homelessness and stabilize in permanent housing;
  • Connect to services like employment counseling and job trainings that help them retain their housing in the long term.

Target population

  • Episodic homelessness
  • Able to generate sufficient income to afford housing in the long-term

Supportive services

  • Shallow or declining rent subsidy
  • Other temporary financial assistance
  • Time-limited case management
  • Housing support
