Homelessness prevention

A group of seven agencies has been designated as the Emergency Assistance Network (EAN) for one-time financial assistance and Sacred Heart Community Services is the coordinating partner for the homelessness prevention system.

The program provides financial assistance related to housing. It also provides housing specialist assistance to the clients including housing search, location, referral, landlord mediation and dispute resolution, and information regarding tenant rights. 

Target population

  • Those at imminent risk of losing housing and who would be homeless "but for" this assistance

Supportive services

Financial assistance related to housing including rent, move-in costs or rental arrears
Other services such as legal advice, information and referral case management
